Welcome to the February edition of the OSCAR newsletter! We are excited to share the latest updates, features, and achievements from our community.
Highlights of this release include:
f4ncgb algorithm for non-commutative Gröbner basis computation and factoring_standard_basis utilizing Singular.jl.PhylogeneticTree objects from graphs and the addition of multicombinations with optional "inplace" iteration.castelnuovo functions for lattice polytopes.Hans Schönemann passed away on December 28, 2025. A founding member of the OSCAR team and a central contributor to Singular, Hans was a respected expert in computer algebra and a valued colleague and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Lars Göttgens (Total contributions last 12 months: 2,426)
Lars Göttgens is a PhD student at RWTH Aachen University and a core OSCAR contributor. He works on algebraic Lie theory and symmetric tensor categories, and builds key interfaces that improve interoperability across OSCAR. Follow him on GitHub: lgoettgens.
